Munger 3.0 now available

By Luc Pettett on

Today we’re pleased to announce the release of Munger 3.0, Telescope’s latest AI release to construct your investment ideas. This is a big one, let us explain!

Major AI meta-model improvement - thesis generation

This release brings significant improvements to the Telescope meta-model and its second-order thinking capabilities. Munger 3.0 has been purpose-built to consider the direct effects and indirect, broader implications of your investment idea. The model now also considers both positively and negatively implicated sectors before stock selection begins, considering the ripple effects set in motion.

~ Ripple effects

What does this actually mean? Take a look at a few hand-picked baskets here, comparing Munger 3.0 with our previous model Templeton 2.0.

🦠 There will be another pandemic

Munger selected a perfect array of pandemic stocks: Peloton, Zoom, DoorDash, Teladoc, Pfizer, Disney, UPS, Netflix, Moderna, Amazon, Home Depot, J&J, MSFT. Templeton didn’t consider the ripple effects of the virus and missed Peloton, DoorDash, Teladoc, HomeDepot, Zoom, and Netflix.

🌊 A giant tsunami has hit Seattle

Munger invested in rebuild stocks, technology stocks, remote health services, and insurance companies which was an interesting thought given the substantial claims they would face. Tsunami events are very rare however price premiums would lift, lifting profits to insurers. Templeton produced a basket of mostly infrastructure and construction, mostly focusing on the rebuild efforts (first-order thinking).

🔬 Cheap lab-grown gold is now abundant

This basket has always been a challenge for our model but we’re heading in the right direction now. Munger invested in technology stocks as chipsets become cheaper and identified the issues with gold as a store of wealth, the luxury status of gold potentially changing, along with suggesting you may want to short mining stocks. Templeton awkwardly invested in gold producers, not keenly aware that they would likely suffer the most.

With Munger 3.0, Telescope continues to push the boundaries of AI in investment idea generation, offering more nuanced and comprehensive analysis for investors.
