Sharesies and Telescope AI expand AI-powered investment discovery tool into New Zealand market, empowering over 670,000 investors

By Laurene McMeckan on

Following the successful launch of AI Search for Australian investors last month, Telescope AI and Sharesies have now expanded the AI-powered investment discovery tool to empower over 670,000 investors across Australia and New Zealand.

AI Search integrates Telescope AI’s technology into the Sharesies platform, helping users discover stocks with ease.

Investors can search for anything that comes to mind, from “space tourism” and “vertical farming” to “AI animals in zoos,” and AI Search will generate a deep search of relevant stocks available on the Sharesies platform across Australian, New Zealand, and US markets paired together with AI generated commentary.

”We’re thrilled to extend AI Search to Sharesies’ New Zealand investor community,” said Luc Pettett, Founder of Telescope AI. “Since launching in Australia, we’ve seen investors exploring a fascinating range of themes and ideas. AI Search is transforming how people discover and learn about investments aligned with their interests.”

The expansion to New Zealand comes on the heels of Sharesies experiencing its most substantial trading month to date in March 2024, with $488 million traded. The surge was largely driven by rallies in US tech stocks and an influx of new investors. Notably, retail investing in the artificial intelligence sector has intensified.

Sharesies co-founder and co-CEO Sonya Williams emphasised the potential for AI to continue to drive innovation within financial services sectors: “Sharesies offers investors over 8,000 companies and funds to invest in. Many can find investments that suit them can be an overwhelming task. AI Search aims to minimise this, by empowering Sharesies investors to make decisions on stock options that align with their key interests and values.”

AI Search will be available to all Sharesies investors in New Zealand free of charge.

As with all AI-powered tools, ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance is crucial. Telescope AI has implemented robust monitoring and testing processes to maintain the integrity of AI Search’s outputs. Pettett emphasised, “We have a continuous feedback loop in place to monitor the effectiveness of our guardrails and the rationality of AI Search’s responses. This involves both human and AI monitoring to identify any inaccuracies or potential issues. We are committed to providing investors with a reliable and trustworthy tool that operates within ethical boundaries.”
