Forward Deployed Product Manager

About the role

You’ll own the relationship and the delivery for a portfolio of our customers, embedding with their teams to take an AI product from first prototype to stable production, then growing the account by delivering value they can see.

What matters most is that you understand capital markets, are comfortable around technology, and can walk into a customer’s office and hold your own with anyone in the building, from compliance to product to engineering. There’s a commercial element, but the heart of the job is delivery, not hard-sell sales.

We work with some of the largest names in the industry, and this role is hands-on with them. Expect domestic travel, mainly Sydney and Melbourne, heavier early in a partnership. We’d love you based on the Sunshine Coast, where our team is.

In this role you will

• Own a portfolio of our customer relationships end to end, becoming their trusted point of contact and their advocate inside Telescope.
• Lead deployments from first prototype to stable production, coordinating across our product, engineering, and data teams to get features shipped.
• Translate ambiguous customer problems into clear requirements, and shape how our AI products are configured and deployed for each platform.
• Prioritise the development queue, balancing customer needs, commercial impact, and what’s realistic to deliver.
• Keep customers clearly informed on progress, timelines, and what’s coming next.
• Grow and deepen accounts by delivering real value and spotting opportunities to do more.
• Spot risks and blockers early, and keep delivery moving without surprises.
• Bring field feedback back to Telescope that shapes what we build next.

You might thrive in this role if you

• Understand financial services or capital markets well, and can hold your own in a room full of industry experts.
• Are an exceptional communicator who builds trust quickly and keeps people informed and confident.
• Are comfortable around technology and can engage credibly with product and engineering teams, even though you won’t be writing code day to day.
• Enjoy delivery and project management: coordinating teams, sequencing work, and getting things over the line.
• Have a commercial instinct and are comfortable growing an account, without being a hard-sell salesperson.
• Have delivered complex projects in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
• Stay organised and calm across multiple customers and competing priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Take ownership of outcomes and follow through.
• Are happy to travel domestically within Australia, mainly Sydney and Melbourne, more so in the early months of a new partnership.
